I'm playing Need for Speed Underground 2 on Ubuntu using CrossOver. The problem is, in order to plan on LAN I need to run NFSU2 as Administrator but I do not know how to do this on CrossOver. For example when my brother plays on his windows PC he right clicks the game and clicks 'Run as Administrator'.

Parallels Desktop for Mac, VMWare Fusion, and VirtualBox make it possible to run Windows -- or another operating system -- 'inside' or 'alongside' MacOS X.

The advantage of Boot Camp, with a copy of Windows installed, is that it supports effectively all Windows applications. Parallels Desktop for Mac, VMWare Fusion and VirtualBox, again with a copy of Windows installed, support the vast majority of applications.

With CrossOver Mac, however, particular applications may or may not work.

CodeWeavers is honest regarding the advantages and limitations of CrossOver Mac, and has posted an extremely reasonable 'Truth in Advertising' guarantee you may wish to read regarding the company's real world experiences testing the program.

Ultimately, those interested in running a Windows application or two on an Intel-based Mac should be pleased to have a less expensive and potentially more convenient option.

Are you sure your log in account is an Admin account? Check that in Users & Groups preferences.

What are the associated permissions for the program's file in your Applications folder and what permissions are associated with Applications folder itself? They should be, respectively:

Mac Run App As Admin

Check these and, if needed, change them by selecting the file or folder. Press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info window. The Sharing & Permissions panel is at the bottom. To make a change you first need to click on the little lock icon and authenticate with your admin password.
